As part of our continuing effort to give back to our community, this month we have chosen to support three organizations working to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. As the holiday season quickly approaches, the storm has left thousands of people across the Tri-State area powerless and homeless.
First, we are partnering with Toys for Tots to collect new, unwrapped holiday toys for the needy and underprivileged children living throughout the New York City area. Through this shiny new toy, a message of hope is given to less fortunate youngsters who might not have a holiday celebration without it.
We are also collecting canned goods for City Harvest, a nonprofit that exists to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. These donations will go directly to food banks and shelters serving people who were affected by Hurricane Sandy in Staten Island and the Rockaways.
Lastly, we are teaming up with New York Cares, an organization that runs volunteer programs for over 1,300 nonprofits, city agencies, and public schools. We are collecting gently used warm coats for men, women, teens, children, and infants. These donations will also go directly to people who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
We wish for the safety and well-being of all Hurricane Sandy Victims this holiday season and hope that our contributions can help make at least one person’s Thanksgiving a little brighter.
