On December 9th, Nicole Soler and Adam Bottorff of The Execu|Search Group’s Physician Recruitment division presented to the Family Medicine residency program at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital.
At the event, which was attended by 35 physicians, Nicole and Adam educated the residents on how to prepare for their first job out of residency. Their presentation encompassed:
- How to decide on a practice setting and location
- Best practices for salary negotiation and executing a job search plan
- Current market trends, which covered the most in-demand specialties and how physician compensation varies based on geography, competition, and practice setting
- The benefits of working with a recruitment firm
“The Execu|Search Group’s Physician Recruitment division works very closely with local residency programs,” says Nicole Soler, a Director within the division. “While we do connect many residents with local and nationwide practice opportunities, our main focus when we attend these events is education. A lot of the residents we meet with don’t have much information on what the job search process entails, so we are always happy to leverage our unique insight on recruitment trends to answer any questions and provide guidance.”
