On Thursday, October 29th, the Association of Chartered Accountants in the U.S. held a State of the Market event for NY Metro members at KPMG’s offices in NYC. Approximately 30 members were in attendance, all of whom hold a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Canadian CPA certification.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the current market conditions of the accounting/finance job market within the New York Tri-State Area. Alan McGinn, a Senior Managing Director within The Execu|Search Group’s Accounting/Finance division, gave a presentation on The Accounting/Finance Tri-State Job Market which covered the accounting industry’s most in-demand roles, the industries hiring the most accounting professionals, rising salaries, and other hiring trends within the industry.
“Much of the evening was spent within a Q&A format mostly between myself and the audience, but in some instances, conversation opened up amongst the audience themselves,” says Alan. “It was a great opportunity to discuss trends in the industry and share experiences and insight. The feedback from the attendees was very positive and I believe helped them gain a better understanding of the accounting/finance job market.”
ACAUS is comprised of 7,000 members who, like Alan, are mostly expats from countries around the world. According to their website, ACAUS members are “among the brightest and highly talented in their fields from their home countries and are now part of a powerful and vibrant professional network.”
