It rained, it poured, and the Yankees ran up the score!
The 5th Annual TESG Yankees Outing, which took place on Thursday June 20th, was a great success for both the Bronx Bombers and all of our employees who were in attendance.
What started off about 6 years ago as a group of coworkers getting together after work to enjoy America’s pastime has quickly turned into a company-sponsored tradition.
“I love it!” exclaimed Paige Neary, a Director within our Financial Services Consulting division and a four-year employee of the company. “I’ve gone 3 out of the 4 years that I’ve been here, and it brings together everyone from different divisions to just have fun and hang out. Not to mention, the free food!”
Yes, the free food is a big hit. Located in Section 305, the group had the privilege of enjoying free snacks and beverages when they got to their seats – something they took full advantage of.
“I ate two sausages, some popcorn, and then started eating someone else’s popcorn who I just met,” admitted Lisa Samson, a four-year veteran of the company and a Director of ES Technology, a division of The Execu|Search Group. “I’m a Houston girl and an Astros fan, but I still love going to these games. It’s awesome to see people from other office that I don’t normally get to socialize with in person on a daily basis.”
86 of our employees, including Directors, Staffing Managers, Recruiters, and even the new interns came out on a wet, muggy Thursday to enjoy the game and each other’s company.
“Despite the rain, I had a great time!” said Raul de la Guardia, a Sourcing Specialist Intern who started his summer internship less than a month ago. “I’ve only been here for 3 weeks and already feel like a part of the team.”
Raul’s feelings are exactly what these events are intended to do: build comradery and reward our employees.
“This event speaks volumes of the company,” Mike Millan, an Account Executive who joined the company 10 months ago, confidently stated. “Companies I’ve worked for in the past didn’t set up fun outings like this. And since I’m a huge Yankees fan, it makes this day even better!”
And boy did the Yankees live up to Millan’s strong stance. Showing no signs of intimidation against the 2017 World Series champs, the Yanks came out swinging and put up 6 runs in the 4th inning alone behind dingers from Allstars Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres as well as the current dark horse candidate for MVP, DJ LeMahieu. The Astros battled back a bit throughout the game, but the game was already decided in the 4th and the Yankees cruised to a 10-6 victory.
What’s next for the company? Putting all the comradery that was built at the Yankees Game aside and battling amongst each other at the company’s 4th Annual Field Day on Thursday, August 15th. Stay tuned!
