When Lisa McGrath, a communications specialist, partnered with The Execu|Search Group, she was looking for a role that was the right fit for her personality and career goals. When she connected with Lisa Morano, a Senior Director within our Temporary Division, the two women took their time to ensure that they could identify roles that would be the best fit. This eventually led to an opportunity at a leading accounting firm, where Lisa beat out tough competition and was hired as a Social Media Associate. When her assignment ended six months later, the employer offered her a full-time positon. Now a Senior Social Media Associate at the organization, Lisa was happy to speak about her positive experience. Here’s what she had to say: On her background… I graduated from Rutgers University in 2011 with a B.A. in Communication, and I had the intention of working in the public relations field. However, as I gained experience through my internships as an undergraduate, I eventually found myself gravitating toward marketing and social media. After graduation, I struggled to find a job that was the “right fit” until I began working in the marketing department at a specialty chemical company. There, I was able to really develop my skills, which helped me become the professional I am today. Since then, I’ve worked in various positions involving marketing, communications, and social media. On what she was looking for… I initially came to The Execu|Search Group four months before we found my current job. I was freelancing for a few different organizations when I came across a job posting that piqued my interest. After meeting with Lisa and learning more about the role, we both came to the conclusion that it wasn’t the right opportunity, but Lisa and I kept in touch. In that sense, timing is really everything! A few months later, Lisa contacted me about a position that seemed to be a perfect fit for me. On how TESG worked to meet her needs… Truth be told, I’ve always had mixed feelings about working with a staffing firm. However, I was very impressed when I began working with Lisa and her team at The Execu|Search Group. They were a true partner in my search, and I never really felt like I was just a number. Lisa made it a point to constantly keep me updated on where I stood in the process, which ultimately led me to my current job. On preparing for the interview… Lisa was there from start to finish, helping me prepare with useful interview tips and tricks. She even provided me with mock interview questions. Afterward, she followed up with feedback and encouragement—ensuring I found success at the end of the process. On her overall experience… Lisa really went above and beyond to find me a role I was truly passionate about. It was such a great fit that I was offered a full-time position, and I’ve since been promoted.
