February 22nd is officially National Margarita Day! On this day, we pay homage to the drink’s inventor, Mrs. Margarita Sames, who first served her concoction at a cocktail party in 1948. Today, the margarita is one of America’s most preferred cocktails, and the United States is the world’s largest tequila market.
