How Execu|Search Put Me To Work: Daniel Perez

Catherine

This is part of a series of testimonials from candidates who have successfully been placed by The Execu|Search Group. This testimonial comes from Daniel Perez; you can find our past testimonials here

After more than a decade in credit and collections, Daniel was laid off and in search of a new career opportunity. Shortly thereafter, he connected with Ashley Mejia, a Staffing Manager in the Execu|Search Group’s Temporary division, who was able to help him find a new role that same week. Enjoying his new role in Collections and Receivables, Dan was happy to speak with us:

On his background…

I have a dual background in computer science and accounting, and my road to credit and collections began in the 90s with a successful business in Dallas. Some of the roles I’ve had over the years include Inventory Control, Computer Operator, and Credit Manager. After more than 15 years in the field, I found myself laid off from the company I had been working for.

On what he was looking for…

Soon after I was laid off, I learned my daughter had a serious medical diagnosis. This accelerated my search for a full-time job as my fears for myself and my family were compounded. When opportunities weren’t coming up at first, I started to grow more and more anxious. However, it wasn’t too long before I got the call from Ashley.

On how TESG worked to meet his needs…

Once I started talking with Ashley about my goals, she became committed to helping me find a new job. She pointed out ways I could improve my resume and what questions I should be prepared for during the interview. She was very understanding and was extremely attentive to what I was looking for. Since she knew that I needed to find something quickly, she was constantly in communication with me to make sure I was prepared for everything.

On preparing for the interview…

Ashley asked me all the right questions about what I wanted to achieve, and from there was able to tell me what the interviewer would be looking for. With her knowledge of the company and the field, she knew exactly how I should respond to potential interview questions. Being able to anticipate what the interviewer was asking for gave me the confidence I needed to make a strong impression.

On his overall experience…

I was excited and relieved that I landed the opportunity, and I cannot overstate just how great Ashely was in preparing and helping me land this opportunity. I’m looking forward to this new position and where it takes my career!

“Daniel was wonderful to work with,” says Ashley. “Throughout the process, he was very receptive to my advice and committed to landing this position. Based on his experience and interests, I think he’s really going to enjoy this new role!”
